I've run the Sunset Classic 5 Miler at least 6 times but had not run it since 2013 due to my work schedule. This was the 29th anniversay of the race and it was great. 480 runners on a warm summer night. The race starts at 7:30pm. A fast scenic course

The race benefits the Alternative House of Lowell, an agency dedicated to help victims of domestic violence.

Price for 5K or 10K is very reasonable, you get a very nice T-Shirt if you are one of the first 500 to register and everybody gets a frozen apple pie at the end.

On mile

I was so excited to run this race. I even arrived early to pick a big pumpkin and run with it. The race course was fun, it was a beautiful settings, and the obstacles were very simple (except the last one) and perfect for completing while holding a pumpkin.
