Rockford Road Runners Turkey Trot - Rockford, Illinois - Running

The Rockford Road Runners Turkey Trot is a Running race in Rockford, Illinois consisting of a 3 Miles and 5K Trail Run.

Join us for 'Rockford Road Runners' Oldest Race'. This family-friendly trail run/walk is approximately a 5k distance. Participants guess their time; no timepieces allowed. Finish closest to your predicted time to win Thanksgiving turkeys or pies- Must be present to receive awards. Signup early as this race has sold out the past six years and is limited to first 800 participants.

CHIP timing by Tri-3 Events, a new course, optional Turkey Trot Long Sleeve Shirt can be ordered, always lots of fun.

NOTE ALL Participants WILL start at 9:00am. There is no early start. We will again at some undisclosed point in the race offer a short cut to the finish for walkers or those who have had quite enough of going over the hills and through the woods. Note strollers and pets are not allowed.

Bib and pre-ordered Turkey Trot Shirts pickup will only be available on race day 6:30-8:30 am

Volunteer signup also online. Reminder this is a Trail Run, for those who have run the race before or run in Aldeen Park you will find that the trails are not perfectly groomed. Weather for this week is great! With expected 40 degrees on Thursday and sunny! You will still expect to see and find all of the regular trail obstacles including but not limited to tree roots, downed trees, walnuts, rocks, leafs slippery slopes and more, pretty much everything you could ask for when going for a trail run with the exception of running through a creek. This is always an option but we expect see Thanksgiving day warm enough and this week dry enough so it will be left out for a future Turkey Trot. Weather forecast is a balmy 36 degrees at race time.
