The Halifax Health - Center for Cardiology My Heart Matters 5K is a Running race in Daytona Beach, Florida consisting of a 5K.

Halifax Health - Center for Cardiology will have its annual My Heart Matters 5k run/walk. The race will be timed and offers an opportunity for both competitive and non-competitive runners, walkers, families and children to participate.

The course will start off in front of Halifax Health's France Tower and loop around the medical center, sharing about a mile of the course on Daytona State's campus, and then back on Halifax Health's property to provide a challenging .6 mile of running/walking up the tallest, six-story parking garage in Daytona. We want to get your heart pumping before ending the race back at the France Tower.

Halifax Health - Center for Cardiology is promoting this because Your Heart Matters. We want to encourage anyone and everyone to make that one step to a healthier heart. The reason? Because unfortunately heart disease is the leading cause of death in BOTH women and men in the United States. In fact, it causes more deaths than all forms of cancers combined. And in Volusia County, from 2011 - 2015, we had higher death rates from heart disease than the state of Florida.

Come out and support spreading awareness about heart disease while helping the Halifax Health - Center for Cardiology keep funds local to help fight heart disease in our community.

All funds raised will go toward Halifax Health - Center for Cardiology fund that is used toward new advanced technology or education for the Cardiology Team Members who provide patient care.
