Guilford Day 5K Glow Run - Guilford, Connecticut - Running

The Guilford Day 5K Glow Run is a Running race in Guilford, Connecticut consisting of a 5K.

This is FUN EVENT, for kids, adults, families, and friends. The 5K course will be at the Guilford fairgrounds. As you run or walk the course, you will join others who wish to demonstrate support for a positive and healthy culture for youth in Guilford. Following the race there will be music and a campfire, so bring a stick and we will provide the marshmallows. THIS EVENT CONCEIVED AND LED BY GUILFORD YOUTH. OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO SEND A POWERFUL COMMUNITY MESSAGE, IN WHICH LIGHT IS USED TO SYMBOLIZE A POSITIVE AND FUN YOUTH CULTURE, AND REVIVAL OF OUR DREAMS. RUN FOR THE FUN! BE THE LIGHT!

HELP US GET A LARGE CROWD. CHALLENGE SOMEONE TO PARTICIPATE. The race fee of $17.50 is reduced by $5.00 for multiple participant signups. Kids age 11 and under are free. This is an opportunity to stand up, to speak out and to help other kids. The majority of Guilford kids are clean and try to live up to their ideals and personal standards. IT'S WORTH IT!

There will be no chip timing for runners, and the prizes will be for the first male and first female across the finish line. Serious runners should line up at the front of the starting pack. Of course there will be a timing clock so you can track your own time.

All profits will benefit Lifelinx Corp., a 501c(3) non-profit addictions recovery support service with offices at 2785 Boston Post Road in Guilford, CT. Lifelinx's mission is to reduce substance abuse through relapse prevention by providing a variety of peer-driven recovery support services to people in and seeking recovery from substance use disorders.

The mission of Guilford DAY is to create a healthier community for youth by increasing developmental opportunities and personal strengths and thus reducing youth substance abuse. The youth of DAY conceived the glow run and decided to contribute all profits to Lifelinx in order to help people on their path to recovery.
