Tanana Wayside, Fairbanks, AK
The Tanana River Challenge is a Running race in Fairbanks, Alaska consisting of a 25 Miles and 45 Miles (Ultra).
Have you ever dreamed of spring travel on the frozen Tanana River west of Fairbanks? Did that vision also include aid-stations and a party afterwards? The Tanana River Challenge (TRC) is an endurance race which includes runners, skiers, skijorers, and bikers. The race course loops around the mighty Tanana River and Rosie Creek forest; a distance of roughly 45 miles. Racers will enjoy the spring sunshine, the frozen river and the beautiful landscape that is interior Alaska!
As in 2017, we welcome runners to join the fun, and offer a 25 mile course for all classes. With the later date, we anticipate warmer weather and firmer, faster trail conditions.

This event is a re-incarnation of the much-loved Equinox Ultra-Ski 100k Challenge which went from Nenana to Fairbanks and run for many years by Audun and Sally Endestad of Fairbanks. We've updated it to include more modes of travel, multiple aid stations run by our great volunteers, and have embraced new course routes.
