The swim is a pool swim in the Fort Gordon Indoor 50m Pool. Depending on course length, participants start at one side of the pool and snake their way up and down each lane as they work towards the other side of the pool. Being a pool swim race, participants must submit an estimated 100 meter swim time when registering. These times are used for seeding purposes. It is in your best interest to submit a time as accurate as possible. Submitting a time that is too fast for you puts the child up with swimmers who will be passing them during the swim – not good for anyone. Putting a time that is too slow places your child with slower swimmers and forces them to have to pass everyone. The ideal scenario for all participants is to have people submit accurate times – the whole swim flows better. Swim caps will be provided for this event.
The swim start process involves all athletes, and begins with the oldest athletes seeded by 100m times, then a break followed by the next oldest age group seeded by time, and so on.
The run courses are single loops, around the baseball/softball fields behind the indoor pool. The course is completely flat.
