It’s everyone’s dream. Ten, melt-in-your-mouth, Krispy Kreme doughnuts perfectly arranged in that famous white and green box. The best part? Every doughnut has YOUR name on it. Not only are they yours, but you are expected to eat and enjoy each and every one of those perfect pastries. There's just one condition. You must run halfway to this doughnut haven, eat them (all of them if you're a true athlete), and then complete the rest of a 5K that you won't soon forget.
The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dare, modeled after the incredibly successful Krispy Kreme Challenge in North Carolina, combines America's two favorite pastimes--running and eating. In the 4th annual Doughnut Dare, participants will run a 5K race through the historic University of Georgia campus. Near the halfway point, the racers will stop running and start eating. Racers will eat ten tasty doughnuts from Krispy Kreme before running the remaining half of the race. The first person to finish the race, and hold down their doughnuts, will be crowned the champion.
Contrary to popular belief, this race is designed for everyone. Young, old, athletic, sedentary, you can take part in this race and contribute to something bigger than yourself! You can sign up to run the race without the doughnuts, volunteer, Take the Dare or even be a Ghost Runner!
With a light-hearted spin on the typical 5K, the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dare is on its way to becoming a staple Georgia tradition. Here is your opportunity to get involved and throw a wrench in the accepted division between exercise and eating! The competition will be fierce, and the champion will gain the most prestigious of glories, although there will be no shortage of fun. The doughnuts will be hot, the course will be marked, the crowd will be cheering. All that's left undone is for you to register. WE dare you!
