The IRONMAN World Championship - Women is a Triathlon race in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii consisting of a Ironman.
In 2023 the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i will host the very best female professional and age group triathletes from around the world. Their 140.6-mile journey will present the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit. Through decades of stellar athlete achievements, inspirational participants and emotional performances, the IRONMAN World Championship has etched a reputation as the pinnacle of the triathlon landscape and an iconic global sporting event. In 2023 we take our next step in World Championship evolution, by shining a spotlight on women at the KONAA race, while the men's Championship event is hosted on new ground in Nice, France.
The historic KONAA race will take athletes through the clear waters of Kailua Bay, along the wind-swept coast, and through the barren lava fields of the Island of Hawai`i, providing a unique setting for the ultimate test of strength, grit and heart.

Swim
Experience the electrifying energy of the swim start as you dive into the crystal-clear waters of Kailua Bay on the unforgettable 2.4 mile (3.8km) ROKA Swim Course. With the majestic sunrise over Mt. HualAlai as the backdrop, athletes will start in the water, and swim out-and-back in a clockwise direction facing small swells but otherwise mild and warm swim conditions. The swim starts and ends with a surge of excitement fueled by the crowds of media and spectators as you kick off your VinFast IRONMAN World Championship journey.
Bike
Embark on a cycling journey along the renowned 112 mile (180.2km) route, traveling from Kailua-Kona to the Hawi turnaround and back on the iconic Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway. Brace yourself for the challenging elevation gain on the climb to Hawi and find comfort in the captivating views of lava fields, coastlines, and ocean. Be prepared for the exposed terrain and strong crosswinds that add a thrilling dimension to the FulGaz Bike Course.
Run
Embark on the final leg, the HOKA Run Course, with an out-and-back jaunt past the spirited crowds on Ali`i Drive. The 26.2 mile (42.2km) run then takes you up Palani Road to the Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway, leading to the awaited HOST Park at the Natural Energy Laboratory Hawai`i Authority (NELHA). You'll navigate a rolling course with intermittent steep stretches, followed by the triumphant return along the highway. Your grand finale includes a victorious lap through Kona town, culminating in the exhilaration of crossing the finish line.
