A Place To Race Forever
In 1983, the first North American IRONMAN was born, and that race changed the IRONMAN triathlon community forever. In Sylix; local indigenous language, "Penticton" means " A Place to Stay Forever" and IRONMAN Canada is undoubtedly A Place to Race Forever. aAthletes from all over the world come to Penticton to race this iconic event, but stay for the welcoming, premier triathlon community. Athletes will start their IRONMAN Canada journey with a 3.8KM single-loop, award-winning swim, transition to a 180KM bike through the Okanagan Valley lined with vineyards and picturesque mountain views. The last leg of your race will be a spirited and energetic 42.2KM run through the heart of Penticton, all culminating in an unrivaled, spectator-lined finish line. a

Swim
The swim course takes place in beautiful Lake Okanagan. The single loop course will feature a rolling start and is historically wet suit legal. Athletes will start at the Peach at Rotary Beach, swimming a clockwise loop and finishing at Okanagan Lake Park.
Bike
Athletes will ride through this hilly one-loop course and encounter scenic views on the climbs up Richter Pass and Yellow Lake. This scenic course will then take athletes on an out & back section on Willowbrook Rd and a winding descent down White Lake Rd before the ride back to Penticton. The course will feature eight fully stocked aid stations and one special needs station.
Run
This scenic run course will feature vineyards, orchards, and the spectator-lined streets of town.
Athletes will begin with an out and back section on the rolling and scenic Kettle Valley Trail (KVR) before starting a two-loop section in town. Athletes will enjoy spectator lined streets before finishing at the historic finish line on Lakeshore Drive.
