Swim Course
The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio swim course is official! The 1.2-mile swim will take place in a protected section of beautiful Sandusky Bay-with a rolling, self-seeded start by hopping off the Kelleys Island Ferry, The Carlee Emily. Athletes will walk about 150 yards from the Transition area at Paper District Marina to the Swim Start next to Jackson Street Pier. The Ferry's ramp will be lowered to the water's edge and athletes will jump off the ferry feet first to begin the swim course. The one loop course will finish at Paper District Marina where Athletes will exit the water and head out on the bike.
Bike Course
The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio bike course is official! Once on the bike, athletes will embark on the 56-mile journey through Erie and Sandusky Counties. After quickly exiting Sandusky city limits, the course hops on rural roads through delightful Ohio farmland. The one loop course has approximately 790 feet of elevation gain which will make for a flat course.
Run Course
The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Ohio run course is official! The 13.1 mile, two loop route will start at Paper District Marina and meander through charming Sandusky. Triathletes will experience a flat and fast course with an approximate elevation gain of less than 130 feet.
Very organized event! Check in was easy. They delayed the start due to incoming traffic issues by 30 mins. Unfortunately that kept everyone on the very hot run longer. Bike course set up nicely w good pavement. Run got very hot but superb aid stations. So fun
