About The Duathlon to Defeat Cancer
The Duathlon to Defeat Cancer is a Duathlon race in Terre Haute, Indiana consisting of a Sprint.
TheAnnual Duathlon to Defeat Cancer will take place at the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and is hosted by Rose Hulman's Department of Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities.
Battling this disease is near and dear to the hearts of the Rose Hulman community and proceeds from this event will be donated to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital who treats the toughest childhood cancers and pediatric diseases.
This Duathlon will feature a 5k run wrapping around the entirety of Rose Hulman's beautiful campus, a 20k bike on low traffic country roads, and will end with another 2.5k run which will be a shortened version of the original 5kKeep Reading loop athletes previously ran.
The 5k run consists of a very flat 1st ~ 1.5 miles, then there will be a continuous gradual uphill for the next half mile, followed by a mostly downhill to flat last mile.
The 20k bike will consist of a very flat and fast 1st 4.5 miles, the next 3 miles will consist of hilly rolling hills, and the last 4.5 miles is again flat and fast.
The last 2.5k run will be a flat 1st 0.5 miles with a continuous gradual uphill for the next 0.5 miles and a downhill to flat ~ last mile.
