The DARE 5K/10K is a Running race in Fredericksburg, Virginia consisting of a 1 Mile and 10K and 5K.
In partnership with DARE. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office partners with the Stafford County Public Schools to teach the DARE program to the more than 2,200 5th grade students each year. The DARE program is a 10 week program that teaches children to make safe and responsible decisions to help them make healthier choices across all parts of their lives including drugs, violence, bullying, and internet safety. The strategies taught help prepare children to act decisively and responsibly in difficult decisions. While teaching children to make safe and responsible decisions the DARE program also builds trust between them and law enforcement, reinforcing community based prevention and community oriented
