About The Ride For The River
The Ride For The River is a Cycling race in Pottstown, Pennsylvania consisting of a Recreational Event - 16 Miles.
Enjoy the Annual Ride for the River with a bike ride on the beautiful Schuylkill River Trail, then relax afterward with eight hours of free music at the Sly Fox Can Jam Festival. Ride for the River benefits and highlights the Schuylkill River Trail. It is organized by the Schuylkill River Heritage Area in partnership with Sly Fox Brewery and will be held in conjunction with the Sly Fox Can Jam Festival, a popular free music festival featuring food, beer and eight hours of free music. The ride includes snacks and water at rest stops, ride SAG support and well-marked routes.
There are two ride options (40 and 16 miles).Keep Reading Both rides begin and end at the Sly Fox Can Jam Festival, and take place primarily along the Schuylkill River Trail with about five miles of on-road riding. Most of the ride is flat, along the crushed stone trail. The on-road sections feature some hills. Cyclists on the 40-mile route ride to Reading Riverfront Park; those choosing the 16-mile route ride to Union Township Recreation Area.
All riders will receive a free voucher good for one meal and one 16 oz beer (the drink ticket can be used for soda if preferred, or for participants under 21). There is one water stop on the 16-mile route, and one fully stocked rest stop on the 40-mile route. Free bike safety checks will be available before the ride by Tri County Bicycles.
