The Keystone Gravel is a Cycling race in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania consisting of a Gran Fondo - 80 Miles.
Keystone Gravel is a "Gran Fondo" style type ride of long-distance, gravelish cycling ride with individually timed segments with prizes for the fastest riders in each category. It's a mass start with a format allowing riders of every level to participate, unlike a race, where-as most participants are competing against the clock. A farm fresh chef prepared meal completes the ride! The event is a mixed surface ride intended to be completed on a drop bar style bike. It is one nice loop of dirt, grass, gravel, and pavement! The mission of the event is to highlight and support the relationship between cyclists, local businesses, and beautifulKeep Reading landscapes in the Pine Creek Valley Gorge. Finishing times are not based on a start to finish times, but rather individual timed segments.
Keystone Gravel isn't about defeating your spirit, its about challenging your endurance, keeping it fun, and showing you one of the most beautiful areas in Pennsylvania, stopping into local businesses, while you crush "gravelish" all day with friends!
The course is "no joke" at 80+ miles with over 8,000+ vertical feet of climbing! If you have never taken your bike off smooth roads, please don't register. The course is not meant to destroy your will to continue. It's a good mix of gravel roads, grass single track, and pavement to give you ample recovery time before the timed segments. Roll into aid stations along the route and enjoy real-food and on route lunch prepared by a Chef. Aid stations emphasize refueling with "real food" hosted at local businesses.
