Come run or walk this scenic, gently rolling 5-Mile USATF Certified Course. NEW IN 2023 - A VIRTUAL OPTION!
This loop course includes a portion of the Historic Trail of Tears route, is 99% paved and mostly shaded.
This family friendly event sponsored by the Coopertown Community Development Committee conveniently starts and ends at Coopertown City Hall, 2525 Burgess Gower Rd., Springfield, TN 37172 in Robertson County. Runners and walkers are encouraged to come out and enjoy an early morning run or walk through the beautiful countryside of Coopertown. Afterward you and your family will want to stay for the 8th Annual Barrel Festival taking place just across the street at Coopertown Elementary School. Enjoy all the vendors, kids games and live music. Bring your entire family out. The Barrel Festival runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Parking and entry into the Barrel Festival are FREE!

PARKING
Race day parking is at the corner of Hwy 49 & Burgess Gower Road which is catty corner from the starting line which is directly behind Coopertown City Hall located at 2525 Burgess Gower Road, Springfield, TN 37172. There will be NO parking at City Hall on race day.

JUST A COUPLE RACE RULES
Strollers are welcome but we ask that you line up at the rear behind the runners. And as much as we love dogs, for your safety and your dogas safety, dogs are prohibited on the 5 mile course. We would like to say this is a closed course (intersections around the 5 mile course will be blocked to traffic), however, we cannot guarantee that you will not encounter one of the locals trying to leave their residence during the race. So, for your safety we recommend not wearing headphones.
This is a rain or shine, heat & humidity event. The average low is 64 degrees, the average high is 85 degrees.
We are not responsible for registrations lost in the mail. We strongly encourage those who sign up using a paper registration to do so before Friday, May 26, 2023. Check the list of participants for your name - if you do not see your name, you are not registered.

Photographers will be taking pictures race day. If you attend this event your picture may be used on Coopertown Festival related Facebook pages, websites and media pieces in perpetuity.
THE COURSE
Watch the left side of the roadway where youall see Mile Markers spray painted in yellow on the pavement.
The start line is directly behind City Hall. To get a nice 5 mile loop course (without doing a boring out-and-back) weall start off by running on a short 200 feet long gravel path until we make that right turn onto Burgess Gower. Since the 5 Miler has a common start/finish that means we'll run that same 200 feet of gravel to get back to the finish line. Click on the link below to see the course map and elevations.
