Description

Swimmers enter the Columbia River at the Port of Benton's North Richland barge slip and swim downstream with the current (fast times, baby) 2 km to the exit just upstream of Sprout Road. The single transition area will be at the SE corner of the WSU Tri-Cities campus grounds. Cyclists will head west on Sprout Road, turn right on George Washington Way, staying on this road until it merges with Stevens Drive. Staying on this road until just past the main Energy Northwest entrance, the cyclists make a U-turn and head back the same way. An out-and-back on the FFTF hill will give a quick elevation change, and then back to the transition area the same way as the ride out. The run will consist of two loops that take runners upstream (north) along the foot path, with a hard left turn by the Triton Submarine monument, back along Richardson Road, taking a left on Crimson Way, and back through the WSU campus. Note to locals: PLEASE don't ride the bike course during rush hour commuter traffic!
