Luc's Run - Tuolumne, California - Running

The Luc's Run is a Running race in Tuolumne, California consisting of a Kids Run/Fun Run and 10K and 2 Miles.

Luc's Run presented by Black Oak Casino Resort, The Bourbon Barrel, Alternative Energy & Boyer Construction is held annually each spring in historic Tuolumne, CA. It has become known as one of the premier races in the county. A 10K, 2-mile, and Kids Run (ages 10 & under) are offered. In addition to the local race, the option for a virtual run is available. Hundreds of enthusiasts from around the world walk and run in support of Luc's legacy!

On January 28, 2013, Luc was on a training mission over the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Italy. During the sortie, Luc was forced to eject from his F-16 and did not survive the ejection. Luc is survived by his wife Cassy Gruenther and his daughter Serene, who was born 10 days after Luc's passing.

Major Lucas Gruenther was an incredible human being. He was a devoted husband, outstanding F-16 fighter pilot, community role model, and a true humanitarian. He lived his life to the fullest and never took a single day for granted. Luc is remembered for the way he treated people with wisdom and kindness and was a genuine human being who made a tremendous positive impact.

All proceeds from this race go to the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation, an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The purpose of the Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation is to bestow scholarships to Americans for the advancement of educational goals and self development.
